Jennchem Australia engaged Soda Digital to rethink and digitalise its data management workflows and reporting for its mining support operations, which originate in Mackay, QLD.
The goal was to collect, validate and transfer data from mine site to offices back in Sydney and Melbourne in one automated flow, reducing workloads for efficient downstream processing. It was also to enforce data accuracy for financial, payroll and inventory-based processes by eliminating spreadsheets, double handling and errors at point of entry.
Soda Digital worked in an Agile way to ensure a collaborative project and capture requirements unique to the mining industry. Every release was UAT tested by the client, creating a useful feedback loop for making the best system possible.
The new solution digitalises an integrated suite of business functions including rostering, shift management, time sheeting, job-lots, payroll, invoicing, cost control and materials usage.
Input data is captured on tablet devices at mine site, eliminating the need for reprocessing of data. Transactional data is centralised and shared across business functions to power a suite of custom reports that measure from a whole of operation perspective. With the solution built in enterprise technologies to be flexible and scalable, Jennchem is in a strong position to rollout across mine sites nationally in future.
